John Ridgeway was chief illustrator for the United States Geological Survey and the scientific
illustrator for the California Institute of Technology and Carnegie Institution of Washington. He and his brother Robert Ridgeway were well known for their contributions to the knowledge of scientific research in the American West during the 1860’s and of American scientific illustration during the latter part of the 19th century. This print is in good condition with some wear and tear on the edges.
