The famous 18th century art dealer, artist and engraver, Johann Seligman (1720-1762) issued a European edition of the birds from Mark Catesby’s The Natural History Of Carolina, Florida and the Bahama Islands, beginning in 1749. These are beautifully hand colored copies of Catesby’s work and highly collectible. There are some repaired tears and light foxing in the margins of this print.
