This scene of St. Anthony tearing his clothes was engraved by Francois de Poilly (1623-1693) from Michael Corneille’s painting. De Poilly came from a family of engravers and was well known as a reproductive engraver. He also had the prestigious title of Graveur Ordinaire du Roi. This is a detailed image of this dramatic event. A nice strong impression in very good condition. The left margin is very narrow and the bottom margin has two small tears.
