Pierre Girieud (1876-1948) often took his subjects from mythology and sacred legends. A very influential artist in the early 20th century Paris art scene, he was good friends with Picasso and was considered the leader of the French symbolist group. In 1910 he became a member of the Munich New Artists Association and he associated with Jewlensky, Franz Marc and Kasndinsky. These five mythological lithographs are very dynamic, dark impressions and are very rare. This print has some tape in the left margin and has a fold through the image. None of this will show with professional framing. It was published by Mourlet and is signed in pencil. Limited edition 90/100.
