Daniel G. Elliot (1835-1915 ) was a wealthy New Yorker and artist whose passion in life was ornothology. He became very involved with the American Museum of Natural History and devoted much of his time helping to build their ornothological department with many unique specimens. He was also a Fellow of the Zoological Society of London. This image was published by the author and lithographed and colored by Bowen & Co. ,Philadelphia. A beautiful lithograph with fine detail and exqusite hand coloring. In good condition with a couple of corners slightly missing.
