Pete Max ( b.1937 ) is a Jewish German-born American illustrator and graphic artist. After his parents moved to New York City when he was 16 years old Peter began his art studies at the Art Students League and went on to Pratt Institute and the School of Visual Arts.
In the 1960’s and 1970’s Max attained the attention of the world with his unique pop art images and evolved into a master of neo-expressionism. His vibrant art has become a part of American culture and the name Peter Max a household name. He has won numerous awards and has been in private collections and major galleries and museums all over the world.
