” Landscape ” limited edition 18/150 signed lithograph by Sunol Alvar shows a village in various shades of red and white wash houses with red roofs and trees in shades of gray cascading from the village down towards the viewer. This original lithograph is archival framed with a white top mat and a light gray bottom mat. Both mats are hand painted with red on the bevel. The frame is a brushed gray color with very light hints of red. The condition of this original signed limited edition lithograph is excellent.
Spanish artist Àlvar Suñol Munoz-Ramos ( b. 1935 ), also known as Alvar, is a Spanish painter, sculptor and lithographer. He is one of the few remaining living Modernist artists. Alvar started his career off by winning the Alhambra de Granada grant at the age of 18 followed by many more years of awards and exhibitions all over Spain. In 1959 he joined the celebrated School of Paris , a group of up and coming young artists. He was a great success selling as many paintings as he could produce. He eventually started exhibiting regularly all over the world including America. After ten years in Paris Alvar and his wife Rosella Berenguer returned to Spain where they have been ever since. Alvar Sunol Munoz -Ramos ‘s distinctive style places him along side the great Spanish artists of his day.
