From the ” Dictionnaire Pittoresque d’Histoire Naturelle ” published in Paris by the entomologist and publisher Edward Guerin-Meneville ( 1799-1874 ). These atlas’s present a varied collection of birds, fish, insects, fruit, flowers and people, frequently in the same image. Several different artists contributed and the plates were then hand colored. This rare collection of black and white engravings show the viewer how the prints looked with intricate and delicate detail before they were hand colored. They are all in good condition.
