From sketches of Lieutenant Lockwood who was part of the Greeley Expedition. On April 13th, 1882 the expedition reached a point within 350 miles of the North Pole, the farthest north ever reached by man. They named the spot Lockwood Island and claimed it for the United States. The print is in good condition with the original center fold, published by Harper’s Weekly.
