The American artist Paul Wood ( 1897-1964 ) was known for his watercolors and etchings of animals
but particularly of hunting dogs and birds. In the 1930’s his etchings were published by the Paris Etching Society and exhibited in the USA and in France. This exceptional watercolor of a Gordon Setter flushing out his prey is a prototype for the publisher. A series of etching of this same image is also available on this site. This is a rare opportunity to have an original watercolor by this prolific and accomplished 20th century artist. Hand signed in pencil by the artist and in good condition with the original tape on the corners.
