Two lithographs front and back covers for the book… Marc Chagall- Lithographe III… printed on one sheet on wove paper published by Mourlot, Paris 1965. Can be framed as one image or separated and framed individually. Condition is good overall except for a slight dent 2/3’s down the middle bottom of print. It will not show when framed.
Born in Vitebsk, Russia in 1887 Marc Chagall is known all over the world for his bright colorful dreamy scenes that stir the imagination of his audience. In 1910 he moved to Paris and had his first solo show at the Der Sturm gallery in Berlin. During the First World War he lived in Russia and returned to Paris in 1923. By 1933 he had achieved enough fame and recognition that the Kunsthalle Basel held a major retrospective of his work. World War II found Chagall in the United States and in 1948 was honored by another retrospective by the Museum of Modern Art in New York. He also worked in sculpture and became widely known for his stained glass windows and murals. He died in 1985 in Saint-Paul-de-Vence,. France. His work is in numerous private collections and museums and his art is loved and recognized in almost all countries of the world.
