H.W. Brewer was well known for his Ariel views of topographical panoramas. He was also the favorite perspectiveist of the famous architect George Frederick Bodley. This piece was a supplement to Harpers Weekly and is a very detailed view of London with two perspectives. The two images are 274 years apart and they give the viewer a unique opportunity to see how much this famous city has grown during those years. There is some staining on the left and right sides but this does not detract from this fascinating print.
