Beauties Of Claude Lorrain Plate 10

Claude Gelee, also known as Claude Lorrain (1600-1682), was a leading artist in the Italian school of landscape painting. His harbor scenes and views of the Roman countryside had a lasting influence on landscape artists for centuries to come. In the late 1700’s, during the Romantic period of art, his drawings and paintings were made into sepia toned mezzotint engravings. They are all beautifully executed and rare. Plate 10 is engraved by the well-known Thomas Lupton and is in good condition. Published by W.B. Cooke, London, England.
