Boris O’Klein ( 1893-1985 ) immigrated to France from Russia with his family when he was a young boy. He settled in Paris after World War1 and became a prolific artist well known for his watercolors and hand colored etchings of dogs getting into mischief. His images are often risque and are considered very humorous. They have been referred to as The Naughty or Dirty Dogs of Paris. These particular watercolors were done specifically for Sidney Lucas who published many hand colored etchings of O’Klein’s work. They are all in very good condition and are hand signed by the artist.
