Lichen No. 648 a beautiful mezzotint engraving with some hand coloring from Johan Wilhelm Weinmann’s ( 1683-1741 ) Phytanthoza Iconographia, a comprehensive scientific eight volume set with 1,026 plates and are amongst the earliest examples of color printing from a single plate. These extremely beautiful antique prints include plants, trees, fruits, herbs and vegetables. A fine example of vintage prints.
